The weight loss associated with depression, a new study
Researchers at University College London Dr. Jane Wardle said the study was carried out because of the difficulties to achieve and maintain weight loss. However, he explained that, although the study was not sure, since the comparison of those who had lost weight in the population, was with people who had, it was not carried out a randomized study.
The results of the study provide a reliable indication that, if the weight loss can bring physical, not be as good for mental health. Weight loss is known to reduce the risk of heart diseases, arthritis and related diseases in adults, but the psychological benefits type were mixed.
When the study began, the participants showed signs of depression. After the end of four years, 14% lost 5% of their weight 71% at a stable weight and still has about 5 weight%. Although mental health of the participants suffered in all three groups, the risk of depression in groups weight loss was 80% higher than the third group.
It has been suggested that, while some of the research and socially acceptable to clothing sizes could be an interesting way to weight loss makes people eat less and control their pleasures in proportion to their friends and acquaintances.
Although the study does not conclusively prove link between depression and weight loss, a connection could be revealed for further research on this topic.
